The fictionalized "The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean" tend to generate far more clickbait than the more grounded, original Emerald Tablet. A prime example is the popular illustration of the Halls of Amenti.  Maurice Doreal's version of the Halls of Amenti, heavily sensationalized on social media, diverges significantly from both the original, alchemical Emerald Tablet and the traditional Egyptian concept of Amentet or Imentet.

Doreal takes the name "Amenti," associated with the Egyptian underworld, and transforms it into a physical, subterranean location linked to Atlantean civilization and ancient wisdom - a concept absent from the original Emerald Tablet.  While Egyptian's viewed Amentet as a mythological realm of judgment and transition for the dead, Doreal reimagines it as a hidden complex housing advanced beings and esoteric knowledge.  This reimagining uses the veneer of ancient Egyptian mythology to give his narrative an air of authenticity.

Do the Halls of Amenti exist?

Having said this, since March 2025, there are now numerous social media posts claiming that the Halls of Amenti have now been discovered beneath the Great Pyramid of Giza, purportedly based on recent scans by Italian archaeologists - The Khafre Research Project SAR Technology.

However, the veracity of these claims is contested. Leading Egyptologists, such as Zahi Hawass, have dismissed them as "completely wrong" and "fake news," stating that the techniques used lack scientific validation and contradict decades of research.
