Who we are
esoteric.love is a platform for curious minds exploring ancient wisdom, frontier science, consciousness, and the questions that connect them. This is a space for open, honest, and respectful inquiry. We welcome sceptics, mystics, scientists, and seekers equally — the only requirement is genuine curiosity and good faith.
Our principles
Seek first to understand. Before you challenge an idea, make sure you understand it. Ask questions before making accusations. Assume the person you're disagreeing with is intelligent and acting in good faith — until they prove otherwise.
Disagree with ideas, not people. Robust debate is welcome and encouraged. Personal attacks are not. Challenge the argument, not the human making it.
Bring your evidence, hold your certainty lightly. Extraordinary claims deserve scrutiny. Share your sources. Acknowledge what you don't know. The most interesting conversations happen at the edges of certainty.
Protect the space for everyone. This community includes people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and levels of familiarity with these topics. What feels obvious to you may be someone else's first encounter. Teach, don't condescend.
Speak as if your grandmother is reading. And as if a curious twelve-year-old might be too.
The rules
1. Language
This is a clean language environment. Profanity and offensive language are automatically filtered and replaced. This is non-negotiable — we never know who is reading, and we want this space to be accessible to everyone.
2. Age
This platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. By participating in the community you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Respect and dignity
No personal attacks, harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of any kind. Disagreement is healthy. Contempt is not. Any post whose primary purpose is to demean another member will be removed.
4. No hate
Content that discriminates against or dehumanises any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, nationality, disability, or any other characteristic has no place here. This is an absolute rule with no exceptions.
5. No misinformation with intent to deceive
Speculation, hypothesis, and alternative theories are the lifeblood of this platform — they are actively encouraged. Deliberately posting content you know to be false in order to mislead others is not. There is a difference between "what if" and "this is definitely true and I know it isn't."
6. Commercial activity — how it works here
Unsolicited promotion, spam, and affiliate links in the community are not permitted.
However, we recognise that many of our members are practitioners, teachers, healers, researchers, and creators doing genuinely relevant work. If you have a product, service, or practice you believe would be of value to this community — whether you're an astrologer, a breathwork facilitator, a publisher, a researcher, or anything in between — we'd love to hear from you.
Contact us at contact@esoteric.love and tell us what you do. Relevant services and practitioners may be listed in our dedicated People (individual practitioners) or Shop sections. We review every submission personally and only feature what we genuinely believe serves our community.
This keeps the discussion boards clean while giving legitimate practitioners a proper home on the platform.
7. No self-harm or dangerous content
Content that promotes, encourages, or instructs on self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activities will be removed immediately and without discussion.
If you are in distress, please reach out to a professional support service. In the UK: Samaritans — 116 123 (free, 24/7).
8. Stay on the thread
Keep contributions relevant to the topic at hand. Starting new threads for new ideas keeps the community navigable for everyone.
9. On esoteric and health topics
This community discusses topics that touch on wellbeing, healing, and consciousness. We take this seriously.
- Do not present personal beliefs, practices, or experiences as medical or psychological fact
- Do not advise others to stop prescribed treatment or medication
- Do not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition
- Always recommend professional support when someone appears to be in distress
Violation of these rules in health-adjacent discussions will result in immediate content removal and may result in account suspension.
10. AI-generated content
AI tools — including our Oracle feature — are present on this platform.
- If you post AI-generated content in the community, please disclose it
- Do not use AI to spam, flood discussions, or impersonate a human voice
- AI responses are not authoritative — treat them as a starting point, not a conclusion
How moderation works
The Oracle — AI-assisted review
All posts are reviewed by the Oracle, our AI moderation layer. The Oracle flags potentially harmful, toxic, or rule-breaking content for human review. It also identifies suspected automated accounts and bot activity, which are removed automatically.
The Oracle is a tool, not a judge. Human context always takes precedence.
The Founding Council — human review
Flagged content that requires human judgement is reviewed by the Founding Council — a group of real humans with diverse perspectives who volunteer their time to keep this space honest. No single person makes a final call on serious matters. Decisions are made collectively.
Community flagging
Every member can flag content they believe violates these rules. Flagging is anonymous. Repeated bad faith flagging — using the flag system to target members you simply disagree with — is itself a rule violation.
Appeals
If your content is removed or your account is restricted, you have the right to appeal. Contact us at contact@esoteric.love. The Founding Council will review within 7 days.
Consequences
We operate a graduated response — we would rather help someone course-correct than remove them from the community.

Permanent bans are irreversible. The account, email address, and associated identifiers are blocked.
A note on AI and bots
We use AI to help keep this space healthy. We are also aware that AI can be gamed, fooled, and manipulated. We don't pretend otherwise.
If you suspect a bot or bad actor, flag them. The Oracle learns. The Council decides. Between the two we catch most things — but the community's eyes are our most important moderation tool.
The spirit of it
Rules are the floor, not the ceiling.
The goal is a community where someone can share an idea they've never said out loud before — and feel genuinely heard rather than mocked. That kind of space doesn't come from rules alone. It comes from the culture every member creates by how they show up.
